Coastal Conservation Association
Coastal Conservation Association was created in 1977 by a group of fourteen dedicated Texas anglers to reverse the effects of drastic overfishing along the Gulf Coast. Almost 50 years later, the non-profit has expanded to 19 states with a membership of over 125,000 outdoor enthusiasts working tirelessly to protect America’s coastal resources.
Since 2010, I’ve worked with the Austin Chapter in various capacities, but the highlight of the year is the annual fundraising banquet. Each year this event draws over 1600 attendees, and features raffles and auctions that routinely raise over $2 million in revenue for CCA, the most of any chapter. Part of the fundraiser’s success is the high standard of quality present in every facet of the banquet, from the delicious food provided by 14 local vendors to the custom vehicles, boats, guns, trips, and more available to bid on. As such, the creative has to be on-point. I handle all aspects of the visual side of the event, including designing a yearly logo, banquet program, over 1000 unique pieces of printed material, doing press checks, creating a 500+ slide Keynote presentation for the Live Auction, and then some. It is always an intense crunch in the weeks leading up to the event, but so satisfying to pull off and know I contributed in a small way to a great cause.

The Palmer Event Center hosts the annual event, with an average of around 1700 attendees.
Many local companies purchase a table (or several) for their employees.
Each guest receives a program, hat, koozie, and table gift (typically a YETI product).
Also making an annual appearance is a shallow water fishing boat, the most coveted prize of a special raffle.
The banquet logo can be found adorning all manner of ancillary items around the hall. In this case the secondary logo was embroidered in the seats of a golf cart to be raffled off.
The fundraiser usually will include a 4x4 or Safari Rig, branded with that year's banquet logo.
I run a Keynote presentation every year that accompanies the Live Auction, the biggest source of fundraiser revenue.
